Fresh water supply pipes from above the false ceiling in bathroom

Updated: Dec 23, 2025

Fresh water supply pipes from above the false ceiling in bathroom

There are two ways of bringing a fresh water supply from overhead tanks in the bathroom:

  1. A bathroom water pipe is brought inside through the floor, and then through the wall, and it is taken to the respective points for the geyser, wash basin, shower, etc.

  2. A pipe is brought inside above the false ceiling area, and then it is brought down to the respective points for the geyser, wash basin, shower, etc.

We follow the second method; in our case, it is possible due to the underslung plumbing system. The benefit to the homeowner is:

  1. No plumbing pipes are buried in the bathroom floor

  2. Lesser length of fresh water supply pipes are covered in the wall. In case there is any leakage from pipes in the ceiling above the false ceiling, it is easier to repair.
